Dubai is the shortest premium holiday an Indian traveller can take — three to four flight hours, a visa in days, and a 4N trip that feels like a week. The money goes wrong in exactly two places: peak-season hotels and attraction tickets bought at the gate.
When to go
| Window | Weather | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nov–Mar | 22–30°C, perfect | Highest | Desert, beaches and outdoor dining all work |
| Apr & Oct | 30–38°C | Mid | Mornings outdoors, afternoons indoors |
| May–Sep | 38–45°C | Lowest | Great hotel rates, indoor-only days |
Desk tip: Dubai Summer Surprise (Jul–Aug) halves five-star rates. If your trip is malls, aquariums, indoor ski and a late-evening desert safari, summer is genuinely good value.
Pre-book these
- Burj Khalifa — the 124th-floor non-prime slot is a fraction of the sunset price
- Desert safari — pick a licensed operator with a private 4x4 upgrade, not a shared 7-seater
- Museum of the Future — sells out days ahead, no gate tickets
- Dubai Frame and Aquarium combos — cheaper bundled than separately
And skip these
- Paid dhow dinner cruises when the free Dubai Creek abra costs AED 1
- Hotel airport transfers — the Metro reaches most of New Dubai
- Gold-souk 'guided' shopping tours
- At the Top on a hazy day — check visibility before you leave
Practical bits
A 14-day tourist visa is processed in 3–5 working days with a passport scan, photo and confirmed return ticket. Buy a Nol card at the first Metro station and keep AED 50 on it. Alcohol is served in licensed hotels and restaurants only. Friday brunch bookings close early in the week.
A 4N shape that works
- Day 1: arrive, Marina walk, fountain show
- Day 2: Old Dubai, abra, souks, Museum of the Future
- Day 3: desert safari evening, free morning at the beach
- Day 4: Palm, Atlantis or a day trip to Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque
